Fireworks
Colorpencil
Most recent work of mine! I took considerable amount of time to be inspired and draw the fireworks. I am very satisfied with this drawing!
Summer time
Colorpencil
I wanted to express summer in abstract way. I love drawing geometric shapes and play with vibrant colors! My boyfriend said it feels like going swimming at beach, and that it reminded him of beach towels!
Popsicles
Colorpencil
First summer in California was hotter than I expected and popsicles always refreshed me!
Autumn is coming
Colorpencil
This is called 'Autumn is coming'. This drawing is for the 2017 calendar project! In Korea, where I come from, they have 4 season and Fall is my favorite one. In Fall, the mountain turns in various gorgeous colors.
Animal Extiction
Watercolor, colorpencil
Animals in this drawing are either extinct or endangered in California. All the animals are the real owners of the land and they are watching us silently, while we, the viewers, are interrupting their way of life.
Bear-woman
Charcoal
Drawing figure with imaginary story. Story is from Korean myth. Once upon a time, tiger and bear wanted to become a human. Upon hearing their prayers, Hwanung, son of Lord of Heaven, gave them 20 cloves of garlic and a bundle of mugwort, ordering them to eat only this sacred food and remain out of the sunlight for 100 days. The tiger gave up after about twenty days and left the cave. However, the bear persevered and was transformed into a woman. Bear-woman became Hwanung's wife and soon she gave birth to a son named Dangun. He is the legendary founder of Gojoseon, the first ever Korean kingdom.
Best things that happened in my life
Charcoal
This is very first drawing of mine with charcoal. This drawing is about the best things that happened in my life. Meeting the love of my life and finding my path as an artist is the things that I appreciate every day.
Expressive Portrait 1
White pastel on black paper
I am posting assignments from the Spring semester 2016. This is one piece of a 3 portrait series. The goal was to draw exaggerated face expression and with a focusing on light rather than shadow.

Expressive Portrait 2
White pastel on black paper
I am posting assignments from the Spring semester 2016. This is the second piece of a 3 portrait series. The goal was to draw exaggerated face expression and with a focusing on light rather than shadow. During the assignment, April 16th was 2 year anniversary of Sewol Ferry Tragedy. In order to support victims of the tragedy, drawing ribbon was at least I could do.

With mom
Watercolor
I recently finished this piece of art. It's called 'With Mom'. I was inspired by a Korean quilt exhibition that I saw in Seoul with my Mom. It was a cold winter day but my heart was warmer than ever because I was with her. I miss her so much!
